- Prepare Smartpen and Dot Paper to Record & Capture Lecture

- Use a document camera to project Dot paper during lecture
- Start new lecture on blank page of Smartpen Notebook
- Write topic at top of page (Dot paper)
- Turn on Smartpen (see digital screen appear)
- Begin recording, press Smartpen to read button at bottom of Dot paper
- Smartpen will make a ding sound when recording begins

- Stop and Restart Recording on Each New Page

- Stop recording after each page, Stop icon at bottom of page
- IMPORTANT: One Recording Per Page

- Save Recording & Notes

- Attach Smartpen to computer with USB cable
- Open Echo Desktop (to install go to: Download Echo Desktop)
- Echo Desktop should recognize your Smartpen

- Open and Rename Smartpen Notebook

- Find Library at left side of Echo Desktop
- With multiple notebooks, click on notebook with class notes
- Rename notebook, right click on notebook and select Rename

- Upload Lecture to Computer for Student Access

- Select current lecture notes
- For lectures with multiple pages, download each page separately to maintain recording (label pages #1, #2 etc)
- Place cursor on a selected page and right click
- Drop down menu appears, select, Download to Computer
- Name lecture and save at desired location/folder
- Lectures with multiple pages add # to lecture recordings
- Press Save
- Notes download as a PDF file
- PDF file can be copied to Canvas or instructor website
- Select current lecture notes
